Drink

I’m thinking this should be easy, after all most people that have had a passing interest in my tastes will know that my favourite drink is tea. In fact it could be said that I might be addicted to it. I do occasionally prove this to not be the case as I have been known to go a whole day with only one or two cups even if it is rarely. The only other drink that my health issues allow be me to indulge in is Soda Water.

When we think about drinking we think about refreshment, relaxing after a long day at work or just having fun with friends and family. This is often with some variety of alcoholic beverages. Of course there are those that abuse the whole concept. We see reports on the news most weekends tells sad stories of bad behaviour, fights, car accidents and lives ruined because of the abuse of such substances.

I decided early on in life to remain a “teetotaller” based on the knowledge that my great grandfather was, for part of his life, addicted to alcohol. Once he gave control of his life to Jesus he was able to give up the drink and live a life that was productive in business and service of his God and church.

In his first letter to Timothy, Paul instructs him to stop drinking water and take a little wine for his stomach. (1Timothy 5:23) It appears that there was a problem with the quality of the water that was available and that the wine was to be used in order to help the ailment.

Despite the warnings from various people that tea is not good for me I will for the moment keep drinking it. I’m sure one day they will find that it has some benefits for me.
