Something to be Happy About

It amazes me that it doesn’t seem to matter what time I wake up, even if it is in the middle of the night, I can hear the birds singing. It seems to me that they always find something to be happy about. It doesn’t matter how hot the weather is they still find the energy to sing. I have to admit though that just after it rains they seem to sing just a little more chirpily. While I can hear these wonderful creatures and their songs on a daily basis catching their image in a photo is very difficult. I can sit in wait for ever so long and still they just will not sit still long enough to be caught by the lens.

It reminds me in some small way about trying to see God. We can see the evidence of His creation but we cannot see God Himself. The proof is in the rain that falls, the trees that grow, the flowers that come out in such a wide variety of colours, the blue sky, the green grass and the birds themselves. These things are wonderful and give us something to be happy about on their own.

The bible tells us in Job 12:7-9 “But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Or speak to the earth, and let it teach you; and let the fish of the sea declare to you. Who among all these does not know That the hand of the LORD has done this,…” In other words all we have to do is study the wonders of nature to learn about how wonderful and gracious our God is and that is something to be really happy about.
