Animal
I am not an “animal person” which means that I would be quite happy not to have a domestic animal in my life. I am content to let God’s wild creatures roam and do what He created them for as long as they don’t invade my personal space. This is not to say that I don’t get very upset when those who choose to have animals fail to meet their responsibilities one hundred percent. I even accepted gifts of pets for my children with the aim to teach them those responsibilities. So there was a great deal of thinking associated with this prompt, until we sat down to dinner! Having several young adults around a table is a constant source of inspiration as you listen to their accounts of revulsion and grandeur mixed together.
So it was with the tales of the manufacture specifically of Chocolate and Wine at the dinner table that I am able to accomplish my quest. I will not go into the gory details; you would never eat chocolate or drink wine again otherwise, if you don’t already know the ghastly facts of bugs and snakes.
As I listened to the point where I was having trouble keeping my food down I thought about how life can be filled with unsavoury moments and great danger. These things are just part of life. No matter how careful we are we will always find ourselves facing these things and the consequences will often mean that we have to move through the process of grief. However, just like the Chocolate and Wine, we will be transformed into something that is precious.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
