Something Yellow

We have acquired an interesting chair recently. It was a gift from a friend. Our décor is very 1950’s and the chair fits into that era. It will match our décor a little better once I get around to painting it blue rather than leaving it yellow but for the moment it fits this prompt.
The thing about this chair is that it is adjustable. In one position it is a chair that can be easily be sat on and making a few quick actions it becomes a step ladder, something this height challenged person often needs.

So what can this chair demonstrate to me about life? I think it can exhibit that our lives will often require us to be flexible and adjustable. There are times when we will need to sit and listen to our children, family and our lord. “Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42
There are other times though when we need to get up and do things, reach for things that stretch us a little. “….and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,” Hebrews 12:1b So let’s be adaptable.
