I See

Lots of things, I am very blessed to have my eyesight. Yes it might be getting a little weary along with my body but I can still see. I actually need two sets of glasses, one set to read with and the other set to see the Television and the signs along the road while I am driving.

Recently I was thinking about needing a light when I am walking around at night. Without the light, even dim light, I find it very easy to lose my balance and bearings. For those who are physically blind these issues have to be coped with on a daily basis.

There are various types of blindness. Have you ever had a reason to say “Love is blind” or maybe you have said “None so blind as those that will not see”? Many people today still have trouble thinking “outside the box” as we say, making them blind to new ideas and/or reality which often means that they will ridicule anyone who thinks differently.

Jesus was faced with spiritual blindness, people who would not listen to what He wanted to tell them. His comments on this in John 3:19-20 “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” and in John 12:39-40 John quotes the Old Testament “Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.” Lord please help me to see your works in my life today.
