Bright
Thinking about the word bright on an everyday basis there are so many things that are bright. There are bright colours in flowers, the sun shines brightly on a clear day and even a full moon can brighten up a clear night. Lightening is so bright that we can see it from miles/kilometres away. As a child, I remember counting the seconds between seeing the lightening and hearing the thunder to roughly work out how far away the storm was.
If we research this word on a spiritual level there are so many instances where things have occurred resulting in some sort of brightness has happened. It is also said in scripture that Moses’ face was bright after he had spent a special time with God. He even had to hide his face from the people of Israel. Exodus 34:29-35
Some angels are said to shine brightly, so much so that they frighten people when they appear when meant that they had to tell humans to not be afraid, such as when the angel appeared to Mary and the shepherds. Jesus went up on to the mountain and was transfigured “And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James and John his brother and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, and was transfigured before them and his face did shine as the sun and his raiment was white as the light” Matthew 17:1-2
Paul encountered a bright light on the road “And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven” Acts 9:3. This light was so bright that Paul was blinded for several days and was the turning point of his life.
We do not have to encounter such a phenomenon though to hear the message of God in our hearts.
