Homemade
When people say that something is homemade they usually mean that they made it themselves. But did they? I looked up the word ‘made’ to see how many times it appears in the bible. The result was one thousand three hundred and twenty one times. There are eleven mentions of the word in the first two chapters of the book of Genesis. What does this mean to me in relation to homemade? It means that without the hand of God making me to start with and the raw materials to start with I would not be able to make anything. If fact what I call “homemade” isn’t really homemade at all, it is some things God has already made rearranged to give me something else.
God even made my imagination that writes poems and stories and puts my cards together. He created those who imaginations have managed to invent such things as; the steam engine, harness electricity, work out how to make computers more efficient, solve medical issues and build the great structures that our city skylines are known for. Yet so many times I fear that I do not give credit to God enough for these things.
The bible tells me in Ecclesiastics 3:11 “He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”
This verse tells me that God doesn’t want me to understand His entire plan, which is His to know and work out. Many people search and study space to try and find the answers about how life began. I know and am grateful that while they are searching solutions to other issues in our lives are found. I really am happy, however, to wait until I get to Heaven and then ask God.
