As I tried to sleep the flashing of lightening kept breaking into the darkness. The storm was so far away that there was no sound of thunder. It was impressive in its power and beauty. The power was seen in its ability to light up the sky; its beauty was in the different colours against the clouds.
Again I was reminded about how terrifying it would have been for those shepherds on the hillside outside Bethlehem all those years ago when angels appeared out of a clear night sky. “And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.” Luke 2:9 I can only imagine how spectacular the sky is going to be when Jesus returns. “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” Luke 21:27
Even though the window restricted my view of the entire spectacle, I am conscience that I have a very limited view of just how wonderful God’s plan is not only for me but for the whole of history. “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known” 1 Corinthians 13:12
Unfortunately your view is quite unimpressive because the camera has a habit of distorting the picture even more than the window. “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:” Matthew 25:31 Well one thing is for sure, the bible doesn’t lie and one day we will all see just how amazing God is and we won’t need a camera to try and capture the memory.
