The love that God has for all of us is just so amazing! His love was so big that He allowed Himself to be crucified on a cross so that we could have our sins forgiven and live in Heaven for ever and ever. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
This love flows down through history like a mass of water that flows down a stream after a summer thunder storm. Sometimes there can be so much water that it is unable to be held, breaks its banks and floods out on to the surrounding fields. Once the water has receded it will leaves behind a covering of new rich soil that will enable farmers to grow more crops.
The realisation of how precious that love is has inspired some people throughout history to write songs, poems, and dramas, paint pictures, carve sculptures and build magnificent churches and cathedrals. Many of these wonderful creations have endured for many centuries, engrained in the history of our world. These things we made in order to honour our God. These people often worked very hard and insisted that things be done to a very high standard in order to ensure that the finished product was as close to perfect as a human could get it.
Of course not all of us are able to create such remarkable fabrications as a result of feeling overwhelmed by the love of God. We can however make sure that those around us hear the gospel by sharing it in whatever way we can and we must also remember that we don’t do it alone. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8
