Jerry goes for a walk

On a beautiful sunny day a lizard named Jerry decided that he would go for a walk. All went well, the sun warmed his back and the light breeze blew allowing him to smell the various perfumes from the garden around him. As he climbed the wall life seemed very good. He looked around and noticed a different and more interesting part of the wall off to his left.

“I’m going to see what that is all about” he said to himself as he changed direction. The wall changed colour and was so much smoother to walk on.

“Oh cool this feels very good for my poor sore feet” he thought as he lifted his head and walked on. As he looked around and suddenly something caught his eye and made him look down. He froze! It felt like he was suspended in thin air, there seemed to be very little underneath him. Things looked very fuzzy and kinda of weird. He could not move! How was he going to get out of this mess? How long he stayed there frozen with fear he cannot tell but later he was able to tell his mates that eventually a pair of gentle hands lifted him off that strange surface and placed him back on solid ground. He made the best of his good fortune and raced away to tell his mates of his rescue.

Like Jerry we too can find ourselves in difficult situations. We too can be rooted to the spot, not knowing how to get ourselves out of the mess we find ourselves in. Unlike Jerry we don’t have to wait until help comes to lift us up. All we have to do is call out to God and He will answer. He will lift us up and show us the way back to safety.
