12 O'clock

Facebook - Day 24 12 O’Clock

There is an Australian song that says “Its 5 o’clock somewhere”. Well the same applies to 12 o’clock. The other thing that 12 o’clock has in common with 5 o’clock is that it comes around twice a day. So what is special about 12 o’clock? It is special because at 12 o’clock midnight we start a brand new day. Most of us are still very much in slumber land so we don’t always notice its silent entry into our lives. A brand new day allows a brand new start. We can leave the troubles of the previous day behind us and look forward to starting over.

The other time that 12 o’clock occurs is midday, this signals the height of the day, the beginning of the afternoon. We are heading down towards evening. Some of us start to be concerned if a certain number of our duties have not been complete by noon. When I was younger, midday indicated that it was time for me to start doing relaxing things for myself or the children. These would be such things as craft or sewing. The mornings were usually taken up with housework, washing and cleaning.

I was thinking back to what someone said recently. “Today isn’t the end of the world because it’s already tomorrow in Australia” So this made me think about what time will it be when Jesus returns. I’m thinking that we will be able to say 12 o’clock. It will no doubt be 12 o’clock somewhere and it will signal the beginning of a beautiful brand new eternal day. “But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.” Mark 13:32 No matter when it is; it will signal a brand new day.
