Thank You
When we say Thank You we are indicating an attitude of thankfulness. This is easy enough when things are going well but I also find personally that it is still very easy to forget to say thank you. I get so caught up with how good things are that I just forget to say it.
When things are not going so well thankfulness as an attitude is still harder to find. We get bogged down in trying to figure out how to fix the situation or depression that we cannot see anything to say thank you for. It is there, even if it’s only one thing but it is hard to see. We are instructed in the bible to “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Just the act of saying thank you to someone can make them feel so much better about themselves. If someone is behaving badly find something to say thank you to them for and make them feel better about themselves. I remember back to a time when I did do just that to a young person who had been caught out steeling from us but I found something good that they had done, thanked them for the good things they had done and I’m sure that made the young person feel a little better about themselves.
Today I’m am finding it very easy to say thank you. We have found and purchases a kitchen unit that I have been trying to find for about two years.
Did I thank God for making me wait while I was actually waiting, not really? I would talk to God and say I know you have a solution but I’m not sure that is the same thing.
