Open
Each morning I wake up with the curtains opened in my room. Through the open window the sunlight fills my room for at least the first few hours of the day. That is of course unless there are clouds outside to hide the sun. I insist on keeping things like this as I like to see is the view that God has provided for me. For those first few hours though, it is hidden behind the bright light of the sun. I cannot see a thing from where I lie in bed without using my arm to shield the glare. I am however able to get a small dose of Vitamin D without doing a thing.
It doesn’t matter where you wake up, there is a brand new day waiting for you. Its joys, sadness’s, frustrations, beauty and problems are hidden from all of us. What each day brings is an unopened package. Even when we know some of what we might expect, God can and will surprise us with unexpected joys, blessings, lessons and support. “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:1-2
Of course we need to be willing to be open to Him. We should tell Him of our needs, frustrations, fears and worries. His ear is always open to His children. Just as His arms are open to accept us when we come to Him. Matthew 11:28 says “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
There are those who have shut God out but His arms are always open. He accepts anyone willing to go to Him and discover the wonderful things He has in store.
