What does a person do while laid up with a sore foot - make cards of course and lots of cuppas.
Lord, please make me patient, content and an instrument for you while I am laid up with a sore foot. This is my prayer today. While I am not saying that I am anywhere near the man that Paul was, but I feel like a prisoner in my own home at present. I am laid up with a sore foot which will not allow me to drive. As we live twenty minutes out of town there is no other way for me to go places.
“I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;” Ephesians 4:1-4
Yes, I have been a bit like the Israelites, grumbling about my confinement. There seems to be a pattern developing here. As soon as I plan to do something that will take me away from home there appears a health issue that stops me in my tracks. So I have been asking God to show me what my real calling is.
Do I stay at home, as a prisoner for Him? Learning to trust Him to send people to me instead of me going to them or doing without people all together is my current tough lesson. I like to socialise with people and we get very few visitors here. I would like to get into what I consider a real ministry. So as my friends in Christ I would also ask you to pray that I will hear His answer loud and clear.
But for today, He inspired me to make some new cards.
Cards can be purchased from me.
