Happy Place
I have two boys, these boys are like chalk and cheese; one is quiet, the other outgoing. One day when the boys were small, as we were leaving the Post Office one of them noticed the cross that could been see on top of a church one block away. Why do churches put crosses on top of their buildings one of them asked? To remind us that Jesus died so we can go to heaven was my response.
The outgoing one asked “What is Heaven like?”
The quieter one responded with “A nice quiet peaceful place”
“Oh well, when I get there I’ll noise it up” was the comeback from his brother. I smiled and thought “Yeah, I’m sure you will”.
As with my boys one was happy when things were quiet and peaceful the other was happy to be running around and investigating his world so their ideas of Heaven were very different. No matter how many times I read the descriptions of Heaven in Revelation I have so much trouble being able to actually picture it. One thing is for certain, God tells us that: “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4
On an earthly level, I am in a happy place in front of my computer connecting with people from all over the world. I learn lots about people from other countries, lifestyles and their struggles, dreams and triumphs.
So I’m just happy to connect these people here on earth and I’m sure that some of them I will be meeting for the first time in Heaven. Wow what a happy place that will be!
