Small
Small things seem to be very insignificant when we look at them in light of the big picture. However close up we see more details. I took a photo of a very small turtle sitting on the pool table. It looked very small and could have been a piece of dirt even but taken up close you could see that it was a turtle.
How does this apply to us as a human race? The very small things that we do may seem to be trivial to us but to someone else they may make a huge difference to them. It doesn’t matter if what we do is a good or a bad thing it may have a big impact on someone’s life. A cross word may not be much to us but it may cut another person down. A smile may not seem much to us but it may even save someone’s life. I read somewhere that a person changed their mind about committing suicide because a passer-by had looked them in the eye and smiled.
In Matthew 25:31-40 we read about what will happen at our judgement day. Jesus commends the righteous and condemns the unrighteous people for all the good things that they did or didn’t do to Him. They are surprised that they did or neglected during their earthy lives seemed had such an importance to our King but in verse forty we read: “………Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” The response to the unrighteous is similar “Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.” What we think is small, may not be!
