Two Tone

As I looked at the clouds, I could see that some were storm clouds and others were just rain clouds. I thought about what the colours tell me, the dark colours tell that damage could be done, if those dark clouds contained, heavy rain, lightning and hail. The other clouds would be rain that could more likely help than hinder. But regardless of what those clouds produced they were still clouds not blue sky.

It might be a strange thought but what followed were thoughts about how people see sin. We grade it into various levels, those really bad ones like murder, stealing and fraud and the not so bad ones like lies, bad language and temper. Of course there are those that we ignore all together, the ones where we disregard God and His goodness, His gift of Salvation and His plan for our lives. In the end God will call sin, sin.

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Galatians 5:19-21

At Easter we remember and celebrate that Jesus loved us enough to die on the cross so that “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

After this we receive His spirit, learn from Him and He will help us to develop the fruits of the spirit as listed in Galatians 5:22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,” and there is nothing two tone about them.
