Something Green
As the rains fell, our paddocks were transformed from being boring brown in colour to bright green and covered in feed. It didn’t happen overnight but it felt a bit like it. It happened because my husband had put in a lot of money and hard work before the rains came. Of course without the rain no transformation would have happened.
I was thinking about transformations after I woke from my first dream last night. Oh the magic of dreams can be so amazing! In a dream, people who have died are suddenly alive and well, bad relationships no longer exist and our world can be transformed into something that is perfect. However, we all have to wake up and face the real world. We remember those loved ones have died, the bad relationship is still not right and our world is exactly the same as it was the night before if not a little more pitiful.
The truth is real transformations can happen but they don’t happen overnight and not without a lot of hard work. Even when we come to Christ to be saved and transformed we start out on a long, hard and difficult journey. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2. This journey will take a lifetime.
There is only one transformation that will happen in an instant. That is the one that will happen when we go home to be with our Heavenly Father. In an instant my broken body will be transformed into a new body and I will be in a new world, a perfect world that is beyond my imagination and it will not be a dream.
