Need

While I am very blessed because I live in Australia, with a good house to live in, good clean food to eat and plenty of clothes to wear. I do, however need to eat two particular foods each day. I eat a banana a day to keep my blood pressure normal. Cabbage, in the form of coleslaw is also a product that seems to be keeping my vertigo to a manageable level. There are times when medication is the answer to such problems but I am always keen to ask God if He has a better answer first.

I love my food a little too much and when I needed to find some self-control God allowed; type two diabetes, gluten intolerance, low blood pressure, allergies and vertigo to guide me and develop the self-control that I needed. It is also something I still need to work on every day. I am aware that I still need to drop a few more kilos in order to be able to wear the clothes that I have been given a little more comfortably.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28. I’m not saying that God gave me these problems as such, they were a result of the stresses that I was living with over a long period of time. Maybe if I had relied on God more when I was younger this story may have been written differently but I cannot change the past. I am blessed to have access to all that I need and I know that God will continue to be faithful. Particularly when it comes to the coleslaw as I have not yet been in a position to travel with that requirement.
