Today I Saw...

PIC_1199.JPG

The talent that my granddaughter has, she is nearly six years old and while I could be considered biased, I can see potential. It is raw and childlike but then the artist is only a child. If the raw talent is nurtured, practiced and developed, then one day I could be attending an art gallery featuring her work. This is, of course, just speculation and no one can predict what the future holds for this wonderful little girl. She will face many challenges and situations which will all shape her destiny in one way or another.

She reminds me of how our lives as Christians can be like her art. No matter how old we are when we come to Jesus and start our walk with Him, our faith is raw and childlike. It needs to be nurtured, practiced and developed so that it will grow into something beautiful for the world to see. It will be able to pass on messages of love, patience and encouragement to those who see the growth that takes place. Yes, its growth will be determined by the challenges and situations, both good and bad, that the person has to go through but the hand of God will always be there to guide and direct them. The big difference here is that while I cannot see what is in my granddaughter’s future, God can and He sees all our futures.

“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” Hebrews 4:13

“If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.” Psalm 139:8 and that is no speculation.
