10 O'clock
At 10 O’clock this morning I was having fellowship with the ladies of our Presbyterian Women’s Association group at Inverell. These ladies have been my prayer partners for the last twenty years. As a teenager I spent a couple of years living and working around the area which means that some of these ladies knew me way back then and have prayed for me over the years. It has been the prayers and support of these ladies that have nurtured my spiritual and physical wellbeing over particularly over the last twenty years. They have watched me struggle with the everyday issues of raising a family within the boundaries of the farming world.
This group has also been a framework that has helped trained me for many of the skills that I have developed over the years. As a member of this group I have been able to advance my speaking, administration and writing talents. Most of them would be totally unaware of their influence on me or anyone else.
If you were to ask them why they did such a wonderful ministry they would tell you that it is all about their service to their Lord. “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” Colossians 3:23 and “With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:” Ephesians 6:7
In order to thank these ladies for all their support over such a long period time it is my intention to be as supportive and encouraging to others who God brings across my path on a daily basis. It may need to be in the form of a conversation, prayer or something practical. May God continue to give me the courage, imagination and motivation to do this not only to thank them and my Lord.
