I was thinking about my mum this morning and how she has gone to Heaven. We know that once that key has opened the gates to Heaven, it is a one way entry, there is no going back, those gates close tight behind those who enter and it is an eternal existence.

I was thinking about the fact that she wouldn’t want to come back to earth. It doesn’t matter how much I miss her and how many times I could plead with God to send her back it is not going to happen. As much as she would still like to be part of our family’s physical lives, she is in a better place. Her greatest desire, however, would be for us to join her. She would want us to share in her wonderful new reality and save us from the corrupt world that we live in. She is waiting for us all!

So what is the key to her new reality, the way into Heaven? When Thomas asked this question two thousand years ago “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:16) and the answer is still the same today.

“Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.” 1 Thessalonians 5:10 Who died for us? Jesus died so that we could have eternal life.

“And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:15

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
