Silly

DSCF1044.JPG

We have a bird that keeps banging at our laundry window. It seems to be such a silly thing for it to do. It’s not the first time that we have had a bird constantly bash our windows. Sometimes they are trying to get to the insects that are on the inside of the window. On other occasions they are just attacking themselves as they think their reflection is another bird.

There are times when I find myself doing the same thing, not literally of course, but spiritually. I am guilty of bashing myself up thinking that if I work hard enough I will be able to solve my problems. There are times when God has made me wait for His answers but they have been always come. Sometimes I have had to wait two years, six years and even thirty years but He has answered.

There are times when I need to just wait for the Lord to answer me. Yes, I know that sometimes He will say ‘No’ and it is at these times that I find myself still bashing away at the window trying to get what I want, not what He wants.

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” Psalm 27:14.

Last year I had to learn almost the hard way that only God knows what is in my future and I’m so glad that He didn’t tell me beforehand what it was. It was proof that He loves me and cares for me so much. Trusting Him to give us the right answer is so hard to do and to many people it is silly to leave our futures in the hands of an unseen God.

It is not silly to trust a God that is all around you.
