On My Mind

There are a lot of things on my mind today. What went wrong with my book signing yesterday (I only sold three books)? How can I make sure that I sell all the rest of the books that I have in my car along with other jobs that need to do today. Some jobs have been put on hold for the last couple of days while I concentrated on the book signing.

Yes, I am telling myself that God knows all about my needs, small, big and concerns. He even knows how all these things will be worked out. “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24. My heart, though, is having trouble keeping up. This all just proves how imperfectly human I am.

Jeremiah 29:11 tells me “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” And it will be important for me to get this verse onto my mind today in order to get my heart to catch up.

My mind needs to go over what I didn’t do, what I did that was right and what I could do better next time. My heart and mind are not always running in unison but they get there eventually.

James 4:15 says “For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.” So the other thing on my mind is to not run ahead of God my Father. . As I move forward I also need to make sure that I go to God first and ask Him what it is that He wants me to do.
