Anything

Will anything stay the same? We received a letter in the mail recently. It had a stick on stamp in the right hand corner. We are so used to getting letters with machine generated postage that this letter struck me as being nearly unique. My son gave us a copy of an old newspaper from 1958 which he had found in a secondhand wardrobe. As we read some of the stories and advertisements in it we were struck by the difference in the circumstances and products that were available way back then.

Looking back is useless unless we are prepared to learn from the mistakes that those who have gone before us and try to the best of our God given ability to change the world which we are currently in.

As we wake up each day we never know what will be part of it. Some things will always be the same, such as the sun will rise and set, the moon will come up and shine through the night. They will be there even if we cannot see through barriers such as building’s roof, clouds or smog.

No matter what happens we know there is one person that will always remain the same. Jesus! “Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8.

It will not matter how things change or how fast they change. It will not matter if they change for the better or for worse Jesus will be there, He will stay with us and help us to get through the challenges that life will throw at us.

In Joshua 1:9 we are told: “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest”.
