One morning I woke to a thick foggy cloud covering our driveway. As I thought about this title I had to wonder what I could write about without repeating myself. It is true that we live in a foggy world, one that is hard to see where we are going clearly. At each turn we are bombarded with information and advice. We then have to sort through all that material to work out what is true, suitable and right for our particular situation.

As I looked at what I could see of our driveway, I thought about how carefully I would need to drive when I got my vehicle out. I realised that there would be many people who would get behind the wheel of their car and drive madly headlong into the fog while others would slow down and take as much care as they could.

Isn’t that also true of people in this world? Some people charge headlong into life. They drive themselves, work hard and climb madly to the top of the business world. They often do not care who they hurt along the way. There are other people who also make their way in the world with careful consideration not only for how they can help other people but also about what God would like them to achieve, which means they drive carefully through life.

Romans 12:18-21 “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”
