On My Mind
It has been a week when I have had a lot on my mind. I have made many lists of things to do in order to make sure that I don’t forget anything as I prepare for a trip away. This trip will cover several events so I have to make plans and pack for some very different occasions. It seemed that no matter how many things I had to do each day brought about more visitors and things to do.
Then to make things a little more difficult I hurt my back which meant that I had to carry out my jobs very slowly. Once I hurt my back I realised that I really had to calm down and think carefully so that I didn’t waste time and energy running around and getting nowhere.
There is that saying in the United Kingdom that says: “More haste, less speed” as in the more you rush around the less you actually achieve.
So here I am almost a week later still catching up on my writing because it was one of the things that just had to be put on hold so I could cross off those jobs on the lists that I had made.
Just so you know, my back did come good and I was able (I think) to get away without forgetting anything, but who knows if I’ve left something behind then I have to assume that is wasn’t that important to start with.
So what was God trying to tell me all week? Psalm 46:10 says “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” and if I do, then He will show me what is important and what isn’t and that’s how I want to live.
