Real

I went for a walk and along the way I came across a waterhole. Swimming around on the water was a real duck. Its progress through the water seemed to be so effortless and smooth. What I couldn’t see was how hard the poor ducks legs were moving out of sight under the surface to make the movement that seemed to be so easy.

As I watched I thought about our real world. How the seasons come and go in an orderly fashion, seemly smooth, uncomplicated and effortless. What we don’t see of course is the work that God did when He created the world to make sure that it works the way it does. It wasn’t hard work for Him, He spoke and it was created. “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” Genesis 1:3 “And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.” Genesis 1:6-7

Even when it comes to my own life, God is working behind the scenes, unseen by me to bring His plan into action. There are many times when I will not see what God has saved me from, or prevented me from doing but He has a plan and His plan will work out because of His love and care for me and those around me.

What I have to do is trust Him, to allow Him to work in my life and do what He asks me to do without complaint. Hum, that bit I sometimes find very difficult. “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
