Chaos
There are times in our lives when things just don’t seem to work the way they should. If I open the hood of my car and look at a modern engine all I can think about is just how chaotic this looks. When I start the car the engine allows my car to take me to places that I want to go. If it breaks down however and I try to fix anything under that hood I would be completely lost.
Yet if I take the car to a proper mechanic, they will sometimes be able to tell me exactly what is wrong with the car and fix it without a great deal of trouble.
When we are children it is our parents that we go to when we have problems that need to be fixed. As we get older the people that we turn to for help grows in number. However, these people are not always available or know the answers. Sometimes they even give us the wrong advice or answers. They will leave us with the awful feeling of being let down and disappointed. They may not do it intentionally of course but they are human and that’s what humans do.
There is one place we can go to get help all the time. If we go to Jesus, He is always available and He will always give us the correct answer. He may sometimes tell us to wait for what we want but He will always give us what we need. He knows and understands how we are made and how we work better than any mechanic can understand a vehicle.
“O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted withall my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.” Psalm 139:1-4
