I Bought This
My daughter and I were shopping for some special jewellery to go with an outfit that I was to wear to a wedding. We were struggling to find something that was suitable. Eventually I found a couple of hairbands that were the right colour (gold) and a good weight but they were not made to do the job I required. It took the imagination and magic fingers of my daughter to turn two hairbands into a necklace, earrings, bracelet and hair clip. There was even a matching ring available. I have never had such a complete set of the same design before and I was very pleased with the end product.
As I looked
at the transformation I thought about what God does with His people. Look at what He did to Moses (Exodus 3:1-15) someone controlled by fear to a fearless leader, Peter (Acts 2:14-36) a man who wanted to hide to a man who continually stood up and declared openly of the love that Jesus had for all men and women and of course Paul (Acts 9) a killer who supported those in need of a new life in Christ. They were people made with the right materials but were not carrying out the work that God needed them to do. God transformed them into the instruments that would be exactly what God was able to use where and when He needed to tell the world of His love and care.
I know that very few of us are called to be the great shining lights that these people but we all have a job that God wants us to do. Let us all allow God to carry out the transformations in us so that we can be just as effective in the small corners of the world that God has placed us.
