Something Purple
After a stay in hospital, several visits to doctors and an operation I was fortunate enough to come out with only one purple bruise. It won’t last forever except for the photographic record of it. It will heal, fade and soon disappear and before long I won’t even remember it was there.
Thinking about this I have to wonder how this might apply to our lives. When we meet our creator, He will have a book, a written record not a photographic one (or will it be) of our lives here on earth which will be opened. We will remember all those things which we did, didn’t do and should have done. It will hold our memories, our good and bad ones and the things we neglected. “He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” Revelation 3:5.
Sadly not everyone will have that privilege. “And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:15.
However, once we have passed judgement, through the blood of Christ the things of this world will fade from our memories. Our new eternal world will be so much better that we will have no evidence that it even existed in the first place.
“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” Isaiah 65:17.
Our lives here on earth have a lot of pain that has to be dealt with, just like a bruise can be painful but what a wonderful thing to look forward to a pain free world in Heaven.
