What I Wish for

I wish for a mansion, not an earthly one although I must admit that I like looking at those that have been built here. I also have particular tastes when it comes to those available down here. I have a general love for what is called the Queenslander style. It probably has something to do with some deeply burried good memories of staying with my grandparents in Brisbane when I was a small child. Who knows, I don’t for sure but there it is.

When I tell you that I wish for my heavenly mansion, I’m not saying that I want it now. After all I also hope that I have plenty of work to do for the Lord first but I have just walked through a dark valley this last couple of weeks and that mansion seemed a little closer at times.

This much I do know; when I get to see it, it will be finished, it will be beautiful, in fact it will be stunning and it will be mine.

John 14:2-3 says “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

I have become aware recently of just how much we cannot know about what our future is going to be like simply because we do not have hindsight. We shake our heads at the disciples for their lack of insight but here we are 2000 years later and things are still happening differently to what they thought it would be. Walking by faith just means that we do not speculate but accept that: IT WILL BE.
