In The Air

I was taking my first two flights on a large aeroplane. Even though I had taken several flights before they had always been on smaller aircraft. This one was big for me. On both occasions I was seated behind the wings. Now what I found interesting was that when the plane was landing I could see some of the workings inside that wing. There seemed to be a lot of mechanical gear in there that we don’t normally see. I was a very aware that if one of those bits broke we could be in a lot of trouble.

As I reflect on those journeys I am amazed at the faith that is placed in some many hands. There is faith that the mechanics who built the plane did it right, faith in the maintenance crews and faith in the pilots who fly these monsters of the skies.

Yet ultimately I had to place my faith, not in all these people but in God my father because He is the one that makes sure that all these people do the right things to make sure that that plane stays up in the air.
