Sparkle

I had lost my sparkle and yet I really wasn’t aware that it was lost. The process happened over such a long period of time that I began to feel that dull was normal. As I recover from the operations that more or less saved my life I thank God for the right doctors in the right place at the right time. What a wonderful God we have.
Yet, I wonder if this is a process that happens on a spiritual level as well. Things slip slowly and we don’t notice just how our spark for God was dulled until He pulls us up and shows us that we need to step back into His light and care.
Like the five virgins, (Matthew 25) we don’t intend to let the candles go out we just don’t realise that things had got that bad.
Our loving God is always willing and able to assist us in bringing back the sparkle in our lives so that we will be able to: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
