I Never

I never thought I would become so disconnected with the world. Writing has been my connection with the outside world for a while now and suddenly I have lost my appetite for it. I have only been writing for a few years but this is the first time that I have really not felt like writing at all. There has been no desire to even turn on the computer.

As I brought this to the Lord this morning I prayed about my serious lack of appetite and the response was if you eat what you are allergic to of course you are going to lose your appetite. This applies both physically and spiritually.

I’ve decided that I am allergic to bad, sad and hyped up news. With the invention of social media we have all become part of the news feed whether we like it or not. Regardless of the source; television, Facebook, newspaper or books anything that falls into these categories needs to be avoided.

Now even I know that this is very unrealistic in today’s world. We are forced fed this sort of information and unlike my physical food allergies I cannot avoid them so I need an antihistamine. I’m not sure that even that returns the appetite quickly but at least it will stop me from dying.

What is the antihistamine for the bad news feed? It’s found in Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things arehonest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; ifthere be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

We all have a responsibility to make sure that what we are dishing up is good food. As one lady constantly says: pbip (pray before I post).
