Opps I have stains on my shirt. The older I get the more of these messes I seem to make. I can no longer blame young babies for make such marks they are my doing and mine alone. As I looked at this shirt, my thoughts went to the stains on my life. There are many more stains on me than are on this shirt.
My thoughts also went to how hard these stains are going to be to get off this shirt. My washing machine is one of those new environmentally friendly ones, which seem to work do the job by leaving the stains on the clothes instead of the environment. On some occasions the only way to hide the stains is to wear something else over the top.
Thankfully the stains on my life have been dealt with by Jesus. He died on the cross so that I can be forgiven of all my sins and they are covered by Him. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” Ephesians1:7. That doesn’t mean that they don’t exist and yes some of them are as hard to deal with as the stains on my clothes.
It’s a slow process that will go on for the rest of my life and as the saying goes, please be patient with me because God isn’t finished with me yet.
