D is for Disciple
As I thought about this word I rem
embered a memory from my childhood. Our parents had three children at the time and the youngest of them was following us two older ones around and copying everything that we did. In true older children’s style we go to mum and ask her to tell him to stop copying us as it was annoying. Mum’s response, of course, was that we needed to accept it because this was the way that younger children learn how to all the things that they needed to achieve at that age. He was in fact being a disciple of his elder siblings.
This is how we learn in our Christian walk. We follow and copy what Jesus did. We copy His love for those who didn’t love Him. We try to put others first, care for those who need help and tell everyone we can the good news about how Jesus loves all of mankind.
Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:1
