Chill
There was quite a chill in the air this morning when I woke up. There wasn’t a frost but it was definitely cooler. It was welcomed after the previous hot steamy weather we had experienced earlier in the week but I still needed to put on a warm jacket to feel comfortable. Yet has the day progressed the temperature rose and off came the warm jacket.
Thinking about the changing temperatures I thought about how our lives rise and fall just like the daily temperature. There are times when I need to wrap myself up in the Word of God. They are those days when I can feel the chilling effects of sin in and around my life. There have even been days when my world seemed to be out of control. There will always be days like that, not just chilly but positively freezing. Yet, I need to remember that God is still there, watching me
There are other times when life is good and good things just seems to flow on through me and I experience that relaxed feeling of just being in Christ as I move forward each day working for Him. These warmer days in the spirit of God are to be enjoyed as they are a blessing from the Father and I recognize that special feeling of fellowship with my Father.
It doesn’t matter how the spiritual weather is around me, if I look to Jesus there will always be something to learn from what I am undergoing. No matter how chilly it is I need to remember: "It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men and knowledge to men of understanding.” Daniel 2:21.
