Sparrows

Around our home we have a particular bird that tends to create a lot of mess. They are a wonderful host for those horrid things called lice. Some people consider them to be only a pest.

Yet, they are special to God, so special that they are specifically mentioned in the Bible at least five times. Yes, they are sparrows. "Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.” Luke 12:6. It has been suggested that we need to try and get rid of them but I know that we cannot get rid of them without putting all the other small birds at risk.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” This verse tells us that Jesus came to earth to make salvation available to everyone. Not just the good people, not just the rich people, not just the people of one nationality, He came to save all mankind and yes that includes women and children as well.

Do you feel like a sparrow, useless and a pest, well guess what! Jesus came to save you and you are so special to Him. Come to Him today, He will accept you mess and all; He loves you just the way you are.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

We are all as special as sparrows.
