More Weeds
Again I was weeding my garden. It’s a large part of my exercise program. I was still working on a particular section which seemed to have a lot of weeds. What I discovered was that when I pulled the weeds out by the roots a large part of the problem was removed as well.
I thought about our lives and when we get to the root of the problems we have and remove them there we solve a good many other issues. So when Jesus forgives us and removes sin from our lives it makes a positive impact on so many different areas of our lives. If Jesus removes our anger, it will have a bearing on how we relate to family members, people in the street, drivers on the road and workmates. It leaves room for other things to come into our lives and make us a greater influence for Him.
“Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Galatians 5:19-24.
