Christmas Gift

This year we decided to try Secret Santa as a way of managing our gift giving. Family members were finding it too expensive to give quality gifts to all members of the family. This way they would be able to buy something of value for one person.

Gift giving at Christmas time is supposed to remind us of God’s gift of salvation which was given freely as an act of grace and undeserved by us. It was the most costly gift that God could have given us.

This gift was also essential for mankind. It is the only way we can have eternal life with God in Heaven. There is just no other way to have our relationship with God restored. Unless we accept this wonderful gift we will be forever doomed to hell.

When we are preparing for Christmas do we think about what the recipient needs and would like or do we just get something so we look acceptable to others?

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
