Slices of Bread

The bread had been thawing out for a while now but I needed to be used it for morning tea. As I started to separate the slices I discovered that the bread was still frozen in the middle. Prizing the slices apart I had to tell myself to be very careful or I would render the bread useless.

As I was spreading the butter another thought occurred to me. Aren’t we just like that bread, frozen in the middle. No matter how long we have been walking with the Lord, there will always be things in our lives that have to be dealt with, improved and thawed out. Yet, our Lord needs to use us to spread His word and love.

He gently separates us from the loaf, sends us out into the world to work for Him. He leads us with a gentle hand even if we feel that we are still stuck in our past.

“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13.

Prayer: Lord, use me no matter what still has to be fixed inside of me.
