Roller-coaster Ride
It’s such a roller-coaster ride for those of us who are fortunate enough to have children. One moment you’re proud as can be, the next terrified by what they are doing, and then there are those moments when your heart is breaking because there is nothing harder for a parent than to stand by and watch their child go through great pain. If there is only one child, it’s tough but add a few siblings and the ride gets quite a bit faster as each child puts you through a different corner all at once.
It was one of those mornings when all of my children had given me something different to work through. As I prayed for each one of them, knowing that I had failed to communicate effectively to anyone of them, I realised that God has a much bigger work load. He is watching all of His children and He not only see all but overhears what they are thinking as well. Oh, boy am I glad I do not have the power to read people’s minds.
Yet, He is the perfect parent, He knows what is best for each one of us, He also has the power to meet our needs at the right time, in the right way and for the right reasons. All we have to do is trust Him and wait and that is another scary ride in its self sometimes.
“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” Matthew 7:11.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for being my perfect loving Father.
