There’s a Wet Patch on my Floor!
A wet floor in a bathroom is natural, right? Well, not when we have been away for a couple of days and no one has been using it. I watched the wet patch grow bigger over a couple of days before bring it to my husband’s attention. He groaned with frustration as it was an extra repair job to be added to an already extensive one. This would need to be carried out before we could finish the bathroom. For once I was thankful that our bathroom is not finished.
If my bathroom had been finished finding the problem would take a lot more work and be far more expensive to fix.
I was chatting to God in the middle of night about my wet patch of floor. It occurred to be that like my bathroom, God hasn’t finished me yet. While I am still a work in progress those issues in me can be dealt with and fixed. Yes, it will be an ongoing process that will take the rest of my life and at times it would frustrate me.
Paul must have had the same dilemma when he wrote to the Romans. In chapter 7:19 he says: “For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do”.
Thankfully I do know that one-day God will finish the work He has started in me and there will be nothing left to be done unlike my bathroom which will always need to be repaired.
