Staying Where we are Planted
In the early days of our life on the farm, I was very keen to place my stamp on the place particularly in the garden. I love roses and as far as I’m concerned no garden is complete without some.

However, like that saying about some people going where even angels fear to tread, I bought some roses and planted them.
A couple of years later, I decided that they really shouldn’t be in that particular spot and so I had my husband move them. Well, they both died and I now have a problem trying to get rid of the root stock that keeps coming up.
I thought about those Roses and how they relate to us sometimes. God plants us in a particular spot for His purposes. There will be problems to deal with and the situation might not be ideal but God has put us there. Unlike me and the roses, God won’t uproot us and shift us somewhere else just because the position isn’t perfect. He will give us the strength to stay planted where we are and work for Him.
“But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.” Matthew 15:13.

Challenge: Lord, help me to remember that you have put me here for your purpose and I will flourish under your care.
