When we see certain types of clouds we know that a storm is coming. There is nothing we can do to stop it coming. We cannot know how bad it will be, how long it will last or how much damage it will do. All we can do is batten down anything that is going to get blown away in the wind and wait.
In life, we also can see storms coming. Certain situations will always create a storm. It doesn’t matter if it’s a family get together, illness or a change in circumstances. We can see them coming and again there is nothing we can do to stop them arriving.
The only thing we can do, is put our trust in the one person who controls storms. “And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” Matthew 8:26.
Prayer: Lord help me to remember that you are in control of everything and therefore I don’t need to be afraid in any of the storms of life.
