Fence me In

Fences are put up to indicate where boundaries are. A fence around a paddock forces the animals to stay within a certain area and to keep them away from unsafe areas. It will not stop them from testing the fence to see if they can push their way into another area. If the fences are not maintained properly then it makes it much easier for the animals to break out of their enclosure.

God gave us a fence to keep us safe and to help us to be healthy both spiritually and as a society. The fence is call the Ten Commandments. They are the boundaries that we should not cross and by respecting them we have a society that is safe and pleasant for everyone.

Animals cannot understand that the fences are there for their benefit. As humans we can understand that love is the reason rules are put in place. When we return that love we abide by the rules and stop pushing to have them broken.

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for giving me boundaries that will keep me safe.
