When we travel by train to Sydney, we book our luggage on so we don’t have to worry about it when we move from the coach to the train. Our name is always written on the luggage tag so it can be identified as ours. It helps to keep it safely in the right place during the journey.
There’s another journey that we will all have to take. Our name will also have to be written down somewhere. It will not be our luggage that needs to be kept safe, but us, because on this journey we cannot take any luggage with us.
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:15.
How can we be sure that our name is written there, to save us from that burning lake? When we accept Jesus’ great gift of salvation, it is He who makes sure that our name is entered.
Prayer: Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross so our names could be written in the book of life.
