New Lifestyle
My diabetes is playing up again. I have been very fortunate, in that so far I have not needed medical intervention. Yet, during my last visit to the doctor, he indicated that it might be time to look at this avenue.
Now, I don’t want to go there at all if I can help it. I don’t want a cure but I want to be able to cope with this by myself. I react to so many things that I just want to avoid them for as long as possible. So, I had to start again with my lifestyle revamp. I have to exercise more, (no I don’t like doing that either but it’s better than medicine).
As I asked God to help me to be consistent, to work harder and to keep it up for the rest of my life (that’s the real struggle) He reminded me that when we become Christians we also have to change our lifestyles. We have to give up sin, and change the way we think about people who hurt us, use us and make our lives miserable. We also have to make time for praying, reading our Bibles, fellowship with other Christians and God.
These things do not come easily to some of us either but again we do not have to do them alone.
“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
Prayer: Lord, please remind each day that I am not alone and we can travel any road together.
