Animal, Well not Quite. Psalm 98
We always have a choir of birds here. Psalm 98 tells us to sing a new song to the Lord because He has done marvellous things. The birds sing in the drought, during rain even at night. I was trying to find a bird that was singing today and then it stopped and when I found it again I realised that it had filled its mouth with material to repair a nest. If it had sung, it would have lost those materials.
There are many times when we find it hard to sing praises to our Lord, let alone a new song. Maybe we should stop for a moment and check to make sure that we don’t have some material problem that is holding us back.
We can sing but in order to sing clearly we need to open our mouths wide and when we do, the things that hamper us will just drop out. I think that maybe that is what happened to David as he sang many of his Psalms.
